| About Me Personally

JuanitaJuanita BANN04 Welcome to the page where you’ll find some information about me personally — aside from what you’ll discover if you wander around the rest of the site, that is.  This is where you’ll find my hobbies, extracurricular activities, fun stuff, metaphysical interests, and just about anything else that wouldn’t fit elsewhere.

You’ll meet my “kids” sprinkled throughout the site and especially over in the Animals/Pets area, because they are such an important part of my life. . . and my work.  But for now, let me quickly introduce them to you. Missy and Taffy My girls, when I first put up the website in 1997, were Missy, aka Mahogany Miss, a tri-color Shih-Tzu born on New Year’s Day of 1992, and Taffy, a long-haired Chihuahua born April 9, 1995.  Missy came home with me on Valentine’s Day, and was certainly a joy and a precious heart-gift.

Taffy had to go home to the Rainbow Bridge again on November 5, 2005.  She has since returned for another lifetime.  Having been born on August 2, 2009.  This time she goes by the full name of Taffy Turtledove! Taffy And is still very much the same precious soul.  You will find her entire story on its own page in the Animals/Pets area.  Oh, and when she came back this time, she brought a friend:  Krystal Starfire. Krystal They are litter mates; short-haired Chihuahuas.  Taffy is tan and dark brown while Krystal looks exactly like a tiny Rottweiler with all the attitude!

When Taffy left, Missy and I missed her deeply, although she returned to visit us many times.   ThKalien Taffy brought Kali to me.  She is a  Chihuahua/Miniature Fox Terrier mix and Brindle colored.  She was born in August 2007 and is such a sweet spirit.

And then Missy had to leave.   She made her transition to Rainbow Bridge on August 20, 2009.  I miss her deeply, but she visits frequently.  And is currently one of my Spirit Guardians and Protectors.  Others have seen here some of the times she pops in and always describe her perfectly, down to her amazing and unique personality!  She is still one of my girls!  Missy, Taffy, Krystal, and Kali are my soul companions, and are very much bonded to and with me!

And then there are the cats. . . !

Way back in the 1970s a very special cat came into my life.  One night I encountered a man who had a litter of kittens whose mother had been killed.  He was going to drown all the kittens so I rescued one of them.  A beautiful long haired black and white kitten.  And because I got him in that month, I named him April.  Yes, later, as he grew up, we discovered his gender, but the name stuck!   Because he was so young, we raised him on a bottle for several weeks.  He lived well into his twenties, and it was after Taffy left in 1992 that we finally had to let April go, too.

During that time our home was enriched by several other cats.  But by the time Frosty left, I was down to one cat, Marmaduke. Marmaduke He was an orange marmalade boy who came home with us on my wedding anniversary in 1988 at about 6 weeks of age.  I’m not the one who named him, but he definitely lived up to the name!  He had quite the personality and was so much fun.

I moved to the Prescott area in the Spring of 2004.  I was finishing up packing, and making plans to find a place and move in about a month.  Then suddenly, my Guides came in and said, “Go now!”  Since I usually always listen to my guides, I moved everything up a month.  I rented the first place I looked at, and three or four days later, moved my first load of things in.  It should be noted here that after I’d rented the place, I remembered a dream I’d had the night before.  In the dream I was talking to an acquaintance named Robin. . . . well, to get to my house, you had to turn off the main road onto Robin Dr.!

Within a week, I discovered the reason I had to move into this house, and do it a month earlier than planned.  A momma cat had been left behind by the previous residents, and she had a kitten!  They were making their bed under the front porch!  Momma cat very quickly accepted me and the food I offered her out on the porch.  And by the time she had weaned the kitten, not only could I pet her baby, but the baby was already litter box trained!  At that point, I brought the kitten into the house and found momma cat a new home where she would be safe and out of the cold.

SmudgeAnd that is how Smudge came into my life and my home!  She is a gorgeous girl, and so full of love.  And every day she gives me at least one reason to laugh!  Not only did she often coax Marmaduke into running and chasing with her, but she also ran and chased with Missy.  And she loved to ambush Missy whenever she got the chance.  And now, with the other girls, she also will sometimes run with one of them, and still loves to find a chance to ambush either Taffy or Krystal!

And when Marmie went to Rainbow Bridge on January 24, 2009, that left Smudge as an “only cat.”  But she is quite happy that way.  She is not a feral, but having been born under the porch and living the first several weeks outside with her mother, she is very shy.  She is an indoor only kitty and happily sits in the windows in the sun, behind the shades, and watches birds and such outside.

FrostyBut let me back up and remember Frosty!  She was our petite little girl, a semi-long haired grey with frosting of orange and a tiny bit of white.  I learned in later years that she was what is called a dilute tortie, and boy did she manifest all the quirks and personality of a tortie!  She was about 18 months younger than her brother, Marmie, and came to live with us just before Halloween that year and was about 6 weeks old when we got her.  She had quite a life and moved four times with me.  Not a record, but still impressive (Marmie moved with me 6 times; Taffy, in her cock-a-poo incarnation moved 8 times, and April moved 10 times!).

Frosty took each move in stride as well as dealing with a recurring, chronic urinary tract problem.  Each time she had a flare-up, we treated it and I loved her back to health.  But after my move in May of 2002 (with my girls, Marmie and Frosty), she began to decide that she’d really had enough.  Finally in January of 2003, she chose to leave; and Mother came to get her and escort her to the Rainbow Bridge.  Not only did she beat me home, but not too surprising, I suppose, she came back to visit several times since, which is such a comfort.

I also had two other boys which I had “inherited” from my mother when she died:  Buffy-cat, a very dilute orangish color which was almost a soft cinnamon-beige color, and Patches, a fat orange and white spotted color.  They were both born in 1987.  Mother loved her kitties, and it was a “given” that I would become their surrogate mom.  The odd thing is that they actually lived with me longer (10 years) than they did with Mother (5 years) and yet they were always “Mother’s kitties” to me.  Well, in January and February of 2002, Mother came to “take her kitties home” just one month apart.  So they, too, are at Rainbow Bridge.

There are pictures of most all of my kids on other pages.  Since Missy and Taffy, and now Taffy and Krystal, are such good “models,” there are probably more of them than anyone else.  There are some of the other two boys we had, including Buffy, an English Cocker who is also now at Rainbow Bridge.  And Bear, a cock-a-poo, who I also inherited from my folks when Daddy died.  He, too, has since gone to the Bridge.

So, for those of you who’ve been keeping count, we had 7 “kids” that shared our home when we moved from a small 2-bedroom apartment (yes, we had 7 animals in that apartment!) in December of 1994.  We moved into a 5-bedroom, 2-story house at that point and could kind of breathe again!  And it was just 6 months after that move that Taffy came back to make the total 8:  4 cats and 4 dogs!

Anyway, it took us a solid week to move all the furniture and boxes from the little 2-bedroom apartment we’d been living in. . . and the 8′ x 10′ storage room we’d been renting.  We were exhausted after that!  I started slowly and gradually beginning to unpack and trying to put things to rights around the house.  Would you believe that eight years later, when I moved out of there, I still had boxes that I hadn’t unpacked!  I guess my motto was, “if we don’t need it, what’s the hurry?”

I’ve already alluded to someone who was very special in my life for many years, and who is still a friend.  He went through a lot with me and at times was the person who kept me sane, well-grounded, and buoyed up!  For several reasons, I was not meant to have children of my own this lifetime.  Just my four-legged kids!  I’ve come to understand that my focus is on my work with Spirit.  Something that still mystifies him.  Somewhere along the way, he chose to “sit still” with his life, and I had to choose to continue on with my life.  So during the winter of 2001-2002, I started packing again, and in May 2002 moved out on my own.  Since then we have divorced.

Square DancersI’ve had many interests and hobbies through the years.  One has been square dancing.  I’ve square danced off-and-on more than 25 years.  I took lessons, and thoroughly enjoyed dancing for a couple of years before life got in the way.  The last time I decided to take it up again, was in 1987.  I kept putting off going to my “first square dance” back until one night I just knew it was the time to go!  So I dressed, and went. . . and met the person whom I would soon marry!  That first dance was in January.  we didn’t run into each other again for about a month.  From there on, though, it was a heavenly adventure.  With a “stop off” for our marriage in May of 1987, it was quite an adventure for 15 years!

We’ve danced all over the state of Arizona, in a casino in Laughlin, Nevada, a few places in California, and in August of 1997 we added Colorado to the list!  We also had the wonderful experience of going to the National Square Dance Festival in Anaheim, California in 1988 which included a chance to square dance in Disneyland!

For awhile we took Round Dance lessons.  While there are a few purely Round Dances, they are more often held in conjunction with Square Dances: one or two Rounds are danced between each “tip” of square dancing with about 30 minutes of rounds before the square dancing starts.  Round Dancing is similar to Ballroom Dancing, except that with this you have a “cuer” who calls each of the steps just before you dance it.  Each Round Dance is a set of dance steps in a particular pattern and done to many types of music and songs.  Waltz, Two-Step, Cha-Cha, and Fox Trot to name a few.  I love to dance, and came to the point where I enjoyed Round Dancing far more than Square Dancing.

I still love music and dancing, and while I haven’t danced much in years, I look forward to the time when I can add that back into my life.  Just for the pure joy of moving to the music  and in sync with a wonderful partner.

You see, as I began to open up again to my soul path and my work with Spirit, my interest in square dancing dwindled.  Our square dancing as a couple had already weathered bouts of being at a bare minimum several times because of health issues.  And, as I said above, I really enjoyed the round dancing so much more.  For many reason, I came full circle back to being away from square dancing.  One of my dreams, however, has  become to learn to dance better without a cuer.  And to be able to dance again in other ways. . . waltz, two-step. . . .

As I said, things finally ‘came together,’ for lack of a better way to put it, to the point where I moved out and started the legalities of leaving.  We have since finished those legalities and finalized the divorce.  The details are unimportant to most so I’ll simply say that a large factor is that I have chose to move forward along my soul path and spiritual journey.  The work I do is so important and brings so much joy and peace into my life and to those whose paths I cross.  I’m here to teach and share; heal myself and facilitate healing for others; facilitate learning and grow; and be a conduit for Spirit.

He doesn’t really understand any of that.  He’s been interested. . . . to a point.  He’s been supportive. . . . to a point.  Until we finally reached a point in our relationship that we both had major choices to make.  I chose to return to full awareness and work with Spirit; he chose to return to his unconscious movement through life.  For me, while it truly was a soul choice and in that respect was an easy choice, it was also extremely difficult.  Many will understand what I mean.  And while I feel sadness for what might have been, I truly do not regret the choices I have made.

When I did finally move out, I went first back to Peoria (Arizona) for two years.  Then moved back to the Prescott area.  And in many ways I went into a state of hibernation.  I ended up going back to work in the corporate world for a few years until I finally walked out of that for the last time the end of July 2015.

And now I am back to fully embracing my soul path!  So my life and my work go forward. . . . again.  And I am infinitely blessed!  When I finally left the marriage, for the first time in many, many years I felt a peace and joy that reached to the depths of my soul.  To a depth that I probably would never have guessed I could experience.  I was in a place of peace, joy and contentment that I had never even imagined in my entire life.  I said then that I had truly “come home” to Spirit, and that my life was now the journey and the adventure and joy of that journey one step at a time.

But I needed to heal!  And my life has been changing and shifting yet again.  Our folks both left this world — five months apart — in 1992 and 1993.  That was part of the catalyst for my first major shift.  And now a year ago — June 1, 2015 — my sister, Betty, has joined them.

So I have been healing and shifting and growing. . . and re-awakening from my slumber.  From the hibernation.  And I have come full circle back. . . . back to my Soul; my Self. . . . back to my Life and my work. . . . and even more fully to that Peace and Joy. . . .

You will find my Professional Intuitive Information and Services elsewhere.  And a bit more about that aspect of my life there.  You’ll also find elsewhere information about my writing and the Published Author aspect of my life.  As well as Blog posts and channeled messages from Spirit, Ascended Masters, Archangels, Angels, Spirit Guides, Loved Ones, and Spirit Animals!

You’ll see from your wanderings around my site, that I have a lot of interests!  Too many probably, but I still enjoy all of them.  Some interests have come and gone through the years, and some of those listed get put on the shelf for months at a time, but I don’t think I’d be totally happy without a few dozen irons in the fire at one time.  Books stackHeck, I’m someone who usually has two or three books going simultaneously!  And definitely someone who has more than three counted cross stitch projects going!  Cross Stitch ProjectSo I keep adding to, rearranging, and digging out all this “stuff” to occupy my time with.

Yes, in my move to my own home, I weeded through a lot of the “stuff” and sorted through most of the boxes (although there are still some that haven’t been completely gone through or unpacked from 5 moves ago!).  Then again in my move to Prescott, I did some more sorting and releasing of stuff.  And, as most of you can identify with, there is still a significant amount of weeding through, sorting, throwing away, etc. that can be done. . . .  Oh, and when I cleaned out Betty’s house and sold it, I brought even more stuff in.  So there is that, too!  So it is definitely time to clear clutter, release things that no longer serve, and consolidate. . . . big time!  Before my next move!

IMG_20151204_Pacific CoastI also love to travel.  My girls and I did a four week, 5,000 mile trip up and down the west coast last November.  It was beautiful and wonderful.  To be able to spend time by the ocean again!  And see her in all her majestic power!  We even were able to find several beaches that the girls could go out onto and walk with me.  They were so good and really enjoyed themselves.

We are looking forward to more traveling.  To see other parts of this wonderful world.  To areas east of here that I’ve never been to.  And other countries.  Shamrock CelticFor many years, I’ve had such a draw to Ireland and that whole part of the world.  And for the last year plus, that draw and longing has been getting stronger and stronger.  One day soon!
